Which airport to travel to?
London Heathrow (is the closest) or Gatwick
Fly into London Heathrow (LHR) if you can. That is the easiest airport and simplest route into Witney.
There is no train station in Witney. You go to Oxford first, then take a bus or Uber into town.
Easiest route: Heathrow → Witney
Option 1 — Best for most guests (bus + bus)
At Heathrow, take The Airline coach to Oxford.
Terminals 2 & 3: Central Bus Station
Terminal 5: Stand 10
Terminal 4: free shuttle to Terminal 5 first
Get off at Oxford Gloucester Green Bus Station.
Walk a few minutes to George Street or Frideswide Square.
Take Stagecoach bus S1 or S2 to Witney.
Get off at Witney Market Square or High Street.
Time: about 2 to 2.5 hours after you leave the airport.
Option 2 — Train + bus
From Heathrow take the Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express to London Paddington.
Take a GWR train from Paddington to Oxford station (about 55 minutes).
From Oxford station, walk to Frideswide Square / George Street.
Take S1 or S2 to Witney Market Square.
Option 3 — Uber / taxi
Heathrow to Witney is about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes by car, traffic depending.
This is the easiest if you have lots of luggage or arrive late.
